Poly Fibre II is a thickening product designed for use with polyurethane plastics and rubbers but that I also use, very successfully, in silicones. In fact when mould making I rarely use chemical thixotropes in my silicone but prefer to use polyfibres as I feel it gives me greater control. When added to polyurethane fast cast resins and rubbers you can take them from runny liquids to a paste that can be modeled and built up on a vertical surface. I often use it in conjunction with fillers such as Aluminium Tri Hydrate (ATH) to help reduce slumping that occurs when using these heavy fillers. When mixed in to silicone it will create a paste that can be modeled but will also increase the Shore A. Great for creating brush on snap moulds with platinum silicones such as Platsil Gel 10 / 25 and T20. Mixes in smoother and quicker than Cabosil that tends to clump in to dry lumps.
