Krylex KU1053 UV Curing Acrylic Adhesive
KU1053 is a single component, medium-low viscosity UV-curing adhesive. This cures to give a clear, flexible bond when exposed to UV-light.
KU1053 is formulated to provide very high strength bonds between rigid PVC and polycarbonate, but will also bond to most plastics and other common substrates provided that one substrate allows the passage of UV light. The flexible nature of the bond increases the load bearing and shock-absorbing characteristics of the joint. Especially suited for medical device assembly.
Instructions For Use
Krylex UV-curing products are very sensitive to UV-light. As such, measures must be taken to protect the product from exposure to UV-light from the lamp, sunlight and artificial lighting to prevent unwanted curing.
KU1053 can be hand applied from the bottle. The product should be applied to clean, dry parts. Apply adhesive to one surface, bring parts together and hold or clamp in place. Alternatively, parts can be assembled and the adhesive applied and allowed to wick around the joint before curing.
Once the adhesive is applied, the parts can be exposed to a UV-light source to initiate curing.
Excess product can be wiped away with Cleanser/Degreaser or alcohol.
KU1053 is suitable for use in dispensing systems for high volume assembly applications. Feed lines for the dispensing system must have black, UV-opaque tubing to avoid product curing in the lines.
