Monster Clay Features
- Low density – Lower density compared to typical oil-based clays. With approximately 25% more material per pound in each block, its a highly cost-effective option among reusable clays.
- High elasticity – When warmed, the clay exhibits remarkable elasticity enabling the creation of unique and intricate shapes.
- Smooth composition – A pliable clay that becomes easily malleable with gentle heat. To achieve a smooth surface, you can use compatible solvents such as 99% alcohol, Citrus solve, and Mineral Spirits. These solvents effectively soften details and dissolve the clay surface for seamless sculpting.
- Sulphur-free – Due to its sulphur-free composition, Monster Clay is compatible with platinum silicone compounds.
- Firm at average room temperature – Remains firm at average room temperature for precise detailing with fine sculpting tools.
- Non-polymerising/non-oxidising formula – Unlike other oil-based clays, Monster Clay maintains its flexibility and won’t become brittle, dry out, or lose plasticity over time. Its formulation is designed to preserve its original composition indefinitely.
- Melts easily to a pourable consistency – Effortlessly melts and pours into flexible mould materials like silicone, alginate, and urethane, without the need for mould release. Perfect for lifecast reproduction.
- Temperature responsive – Easily melts at 60°C in the oven, with the optimal melting and pouring temperature being around 65°C. Ensure thorough mixing during melting, with careful temperature monitoring. Prevent component separation by fully mixing the clay in its melted state before pouring into the mould. Packaged in an oven appropriate tray, it can withstand temperatures up to 93°C.
