Poly-Optic 1740 Clear Urethane Resin is a two-part, mercury-free resin that cures (RTV) to a water-clear, Shore D70 plastic. This product has a simple 1A:1B mix ratio by weight or volume, with a 14-minute pot life, and 1 hour demould time at room temperature.
For a similar product with higher Shore hardness, consider Poly-Optic 1730 Clear Urethane Resin or Poly-Optic 1730X Clear Urethane Resin (faster version of 1730).
Notes
Vacuum or pressure is recommended to achieve 100% bubble free castings but minimal bubbles can be achieved by slowly mixing and pouring the resin. Off ratio mixing of 1740 may produce hazy or frosted parts.
