I was first given a set of Bdellium FX brushes about a year ago by my friend Emmy award winning prosthetic make up artist, Thomas Surprenant. Thom had designed these brushes specifically with the prosthetic make up artist in mind.
Prosthetic make up, with its strong solvents, glues and strong pigments takes a heavy toll on regular make up brushes. Previously I would buy lots of cheap make up brushes to use and treated them as almost disposable. I would then augment these with regular artists’ brushes I would customize to provide unusual shapes and textures that I could not get from the regular make up brushes that are designed more for beauty applications.
I’ve been using Bdellium SFX series brushes for some time now and love them. The designs and shapes are fantastic for all my application and paint effects needs and even after a year of heavy use that first set Thom gave me are still going strong.
